Had to create new password (as I forgot it), just to reply. Excellent stuff Slatts, its going to be interesting to see your power training plan for the future. I guess it may include; pulling a fire engine in TT position, wearing BA for resistance training or just trying to create enough power on turbo trainer to keep the fire pumps working.

Little known waterford tri training secrets:

Shane Scadding & Mike Bowes: train with power meter turbo trainers
Emmett Kelly: Trains on a watt bike in the college (with a smile on his face)
Barry Lambe: owns a €8000 power meter but claims he doesn't know what a watt is and only cycles in races
Paul Ogle: Trains in his sleep
Dots: Squats with a round bale strapped to his back
Martin Kirwan: Squats with 3 round bales & Dots strapped to his back
Davin Power: Power training was named after him

Oh how the unconscious mind plays tricks on us. I brought a turbo trainer with a power display, you assumed it was a power meter for a bike. Very different things! So if anyone needs to watch out it is Ruth. Your unconscious mind is preparing your credit card for the inevitable purchase!!!!

You would want to spend at least €3,000 when getting one Spins. Anything else won't be accurate enough for your level of bike nerdiness.

Get ready for 2 hour conversations about FTP and sweet spot work outs Cool

You've done it now Stefan. You've let it be known you're gonna train off power. That's the start of it. Watch the influx of WTC member to all banks, cr unions, post office etc. looking to remortgage so they can buy power meters for their bikes etc. Damn you Copperman ! Razz

Turbo Trainer for sale

Post by copperman on Wed Mar 28, 2012 7:39 am

Selling a magnetic trainer brought from Halfords 2 years ago, it is a good trainer just wanted one with a power meter on it. So this is going for €65 complete with a wonderful homemade wheel riser! It is made by Elite and has 5 resistance settings. Good for early mornings or winter. Never managed more than 2 hours!
